Violence against women doesn’t spring out of nowhere - it starts with disrespect

Not all disrespect results in violence, but all violence has its beginnings in disrespect.

So, let’s promote respect for women. Talk about it, model it, teach it to our kids, pray about it and preach about it at church.

A Prayer for respect.

Lord, you teach us to respect everyone: parents, spouses, women, men, children, leaders, officials.

Lord Jesus, you called people to account for their behaviour and you also listened, engaged, and always respected a person’s thoughts and abilities and their right to decide for themselves.

Lord Jesus, help us to be more like you. It’s that simple. Amen.
